Welcome back to the 2014 – 15 school year. Counselors have been off to a running start during this first month. Student change requests were complete as of August 15th, however, changes continue to be made for scheduling purposes. As changes occur to student schedules, please do not hesitate to speak with the counselor if you have questions or concerns. Changes may also be made to senior schedules as Senior Grad Checks take place through the next few weeks.
As we meet with students regarding their requirements for graduation, students’ schedules may be changed to fulfill requirements not completed over summer. We also continue to enroll new students and anticipate more throughout the first week of September. Thank you for welcoming your new students and giving them a little leeway and encouragement as they adapt to their new classes.

Counselor Caseloads
We adjusted our caseloads over the summer to better meet the unique needs of our incoming freshman. To better support staff with students, we want to make sure we do our best to share the new caseloads with you. As a department, we strive to support staff and students to ensure a successful school year and welcome your input.

Upcoming Events
Counselors have begun calling seniors and freshmen in. We are discussing graduation status and needs with seniors, talking about plans for future, colleges, financial aid, and scholarships. Time has really passed quickly; hard to believe they are in their final year! We are also beginning work with freshmen (and parents when available) to plan their next four years here at Sultana. We will make 4 Year Education Plans, career planning, and pathways to obtain their goals. We appreciate your support and patience as we send out requests for students and are sorry for any inconvenience it may cause.
